Despite a rocky launch, Diablo IV is still receiving mixed feedback from players. Developers are making adjustments based on player concerns, notably improving mount stability with patch 2.0.4, which increases the damage required to be dismounted. However, issues with mount speed and maneuverability persist, leading some players to find it faster to run on foot rather than use mounts. Blizzard has yet to address this ongoing problem, leaving players frustrated as seasons progress.
Although Diablo IV faced a very difficult launch, it hasn’t fully recovered, leaving fans divided about the game. However, the current feedback is significantly less negative than those received at the game’s launch.
In an effort to enhance the experience, the developers are working on adding or correcting aspects highlighted by fans, and this time the focus is on the mounts, even if this wasn’t the primary concern initially.
Has Blizzard Reduced the Chances of Being Thrown Off Your Mount Due to Attacks?
A player took to Twitter to complain about how easy it is to be ejected from their mount during high-level content due to damage taken.
To the player’s surprise, who argued there was no reason to mount up only to be instantly thrown off, Adam Fletcher, the communication lead, replied that a fix was on its way. This has indeed been addressed in the recently released patch 2.0.4, which includes this change!
‘The damage required to force a dismount has been increased so that forced dismounts are less frequent in the late game.‘
This is great news for players engaging in high-level content, where mounts have become increasingly less useful, although, sadly, one major issue with mounts still plagues the game. Despite frequent complaints from fans, there’s been no change from Blizzard!
Is There Still a Major Speed Issue with Diablo IV’s Mounts?
While players can now roam without worrying about being tossed from their mounts every 30 seconds, it’s important to note that another problem continues in Diablo IV. Players still raise complaints about the mounts losing speed regularly or getting stuck, regardless of the season.
‘I’m almost at the point where I don’t want to mount up. If I don’t dash while mounted, I move faster on foot. If I hit the dash button, you can bet I’ll get stuck on some obstacle for at least half of its duration.‘ a fan expressed on Reddit, critiquing the overall speed of the mounts and the abundance of obstacles in the game world.
In many situations, staying on the ground and using speed boosts proves to be quicker than remaining on a mount. This, of course, doesn’t sit well with everyone, and there haven’t been any updates from Blizzard regarding this particular issue.
