Where does the intox come from?

In a tweet posted on March 17 and seen more than a million times, former far-right presidential candidate Eric Zemmour shouts “Victory against Netflix! After the alert launched by our collective Protect our Childrenan animated series making LGBT propaganda with children has just been canceled by Netflix.

Why is this wrong?

On March 15, the collective launched by Reconquête denounces “LGBT propaganda and gender theory [qui] invade our children’s cartoons” quoting an excerpt from the Ridley Jones series on Netflix youth, in which appears a non-binary bison, who does not wish to be called by the pronouns he or she.

That same day, the Daily Mail announces that the series has been canceled.

But that has nothing to do with the alert issued by Eric Zemmour.

In its article, the Daily Mail quotes tweets from the creator of the series, Chris Nee. The latter regrets that the channel did not promote the fifth season of the series and regrets that Netflix has “quietly abandoned the series”. This tweet dates from March 8, a week before the extreme collective French right got involved in the subject.

The screenwriter also explains that the end of the series “has nothing to do” with the episode of the non-binary bison, which is still accessible on the streaming platform.

After five seasons, she congratulates herself: “we have made a series as long as anyone else. (…) I did not expect us to do more episodes than that“.
