Municipal police officers expressed their anger on Saturday February 3 by demonstrating across the country. In particular, they are asking for an increase in their pensions.

Municipal police officers are threatening to go on strike during the Paris Olympic Games this summer if they are not heard. Their demands concern in particular the revaluation of their pensions. Saturday February 3, they demonstrated across the four corners of France. Around 600 municipal police officers gathered in the capital to demand the systematic payment of the special police duty allowance and its inclusion in the calculation of their retirement.

“This is not admissible”

Gerlove Yokota, member of the national association of territorial security executives, explains that a brigadier guard from the municipal police will retire with 1,400 euros maximum. Unlike members of the national police and firefighters, they do not receive a bonus included in the calculation of retirement pension. “This is not admissible when we see that our colleagues leave with more than 2,000 or 2,200 euros“, he laments.
