The dark blinds, these warehouses dedicated to the preparation of deliveries, arouse a lot of opposition. Local residents denounce the noise pollution and traders are worried about their business. During a meeting which took place on Tuesday September 6, the government decided to give more power to the mayors.
Incessant scooter rides at any time of the day in the heart of big cities. Those are the dark blinds that are in question. These old transformed businesses in place of storage allow to deliver groceries at any time, even at night, to individuals. In Paris, in the 14th arrondissement, a warehouse opened a year ago. A local resident says she is disturbed by the noise of scooters, which can sometimes be numerous. She now wants it closed and she is not the only one. 180 people signed the petition.
These dark blinds or dark kitchenshops or ghost kitchens where only delivery people go, are accused by traders of impoverishing life in city centers. A restaurateur even denounces unfair competition. Faced with opposition, discussions have been underway for weeks. “We hope for a constructive and peaceful dialogue, which will make it possible to build a legal framework”said François d’Hauteville, CEO of Flink and the only company to have agreed to respond to France Télévisions.
