Defeat of the Rocket against the Crunch

(Syracuse) The Laval Rocket faced the Crunch in Syracuse for a fourth straight game on Friday. After seeing the Rocket win the first three duels, the Crunch had no intention of suffering the same fate and ultimately pulled out a 5-2 victory.

The hosts struck early scoring three goals in the first 13 minutes of the game. Remi Elie opened the scoring for the Crunch on their second shot at 4:20 in the first period. He was imitated a few minutes later by Charles Hudon, then by Gabriel Dumont.

The Rocket came back strong in the second period to close the gap to one goal. Shawn St. Amant was the first to move the ropes at 6:48 with help from Sami Niku and Tory Dello. Then, Jesse Ylönen took advantage of a power play to score the Rocket’s second goal in the dying seconds of the period.

Cole Koepke knocked out the Rocket late in the third period to make it 4-2. Darren Raddysh completed the scoring in an empty net.

Goalkeeper Hugo Alnefelt stopped 21 shots to earn the win. At the other end of the rink, Cayden Primeau made 36 saves.

With the loss, the Rocket (20-14-3-0) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. For its part, the Crunch (18-18-4-1) reaches the bar of .500 thanks to this victory.
