For independent Ukrainian MP Liudmyla Buimister, “defeat is not an option” for Ukraine in the war against Russia. “This war will end when we liberate all our territories and restore the territorial integrity of our country”defended the MP, also a sergeant in the armed forces, on Thursday March 7 on franceinfo.

Emmanuel Macron receives party leaders at the Élysée this Thursday to discuss the conflict in Ukraine after his controversial comments on a possible sending of Western troops to Ukraine. “I am super grateful to President Macron, first leader of the civilized world” to suggest this proposal, underlined the Ukrainian MP. By beefing up his speech, the head of state has raised the disapproval of the opposition, while kyiv is asking for more weapons and ammunition which the Ukrainian army lacks. “We should not fear that Mr. Macron’s firm position could cause anything. For Russia, the war with NATO has already begun”explained Liudmyla Buimister.

On March 12 and 13, a debate and a vote will take place in Parliament, which will be preceded by a government statement on the bilateral security agreement signed on February 16 between Emmanuel Macron and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. “Now is not the time for negotiations”recalled the Ukrainian elected official, who urges her French colleagues to show themselves “farm” towards Moscow. “Negotiations with them are only possible when we have the military force to negotiate”she pointed out, adding that Russia “does not understand any language other than that of force”.
