Deauville and its Strassburger villa

Protected as Historic Monuments in 1975, the Strassburger villa was built for Baron Henri de Rothschild in 1907. A great racing enthusiast, he chose a plot of land not far from the racecourse, on the lands of Flaubert.

It was bought in 1924 by the American Ralph Beaver Strassburger, a wealthy press publisher, hence its name.

Half-timbered, stone and brick checkerboard facade, turrets, bow windows… This villa is emblematic of Norman regionalism.

Exceptional fact, everything has remained in place since 1980date on which the Strassburger family bequeaths the Villa to the City of Deauville.
