On Saturday April 13, a police officer stopped the deadly chase of a man with a knife, who was sowing terror in the main shopping center of the city of Sydney, Australia. The death toll is six dead and several injured.
In a few minutes, there is panic throughout the shopping center: a man, armed with a knife, filmed by a customer, runs among the stores. The scene took place on Saturday April 13 in the suburbs of Sydney (Australia), a busy day. The assailant is believed to be around forty years old. He struck randomly, leaving victims on the ground. “It’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced.”commented a witness, in tears. “He stabbed randomly”testified one man.
A nine-month-old baby in intensive care
Six people died, and eight others were taken to hospital with injuries. The man was neutralized by a police officer, who fired. He died instantly. Police have not released the identity of the attacker. “If this is the person we think we know, then it would not be an ideological commitment, in other words, it would not be a terrorist act.”, said Commissioner Karen Webb. Among the victims, a nine-month-old baby is in hospital, in intensive care.
