Smith said she will not work with any group that wants to control governments and that she has no interest in getting involved with the WEF, a non-profit organization with a mission to invest in the management and protecting the planet.
“I find it unpleasant when billionaires brag about the control they have over political leaders,” she told reporters.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of the United Conservative Party said that she agreed with the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Poilievre, who assured that he and his caucus would have no connection with the World Economic Forum. .
Recall that last Friday, the Premier declared that the agreement between Alberta Health Services and the WEF was coming to an end. A partnership that aimed to improve the health system.
A former journalist and radio host, Smith declined to answer questions surrounding her decision.
“I don’t think the person responsible for the FEM is a doctor. I don’t think he’s a nurse or a paramedic or a medical professional, she said. I will take the advice of front-line medical professionals to address the local issues we have.”
A statement that makes people react
For her part, political scientist from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Lori Williams, questioned why Smith wanted to end “a deal that has the potential to provide information to save lives, improve health and which could benefit Albertans, simply because she has her doubts about the WEF.”
Recall that the new government of Alberta was announced last October 21 and is now composed of 27 members and 11 parliamentary secretaries, according to the “Edmonton Journal”.
