It was an eventful evening for David Douillet. This former judo behemoth will have gone through all the emotions this Friday, September 9, on the occasion of the first bonus of the 12th season of Dance with the stars on TF1. Faced with Chris Marques and François Alu as well as the new jurors who are the prima ballerina Marie-Agnes Gillot and influencer Bilal Hassani (finalist last season), the former top athlete achieved a great performance alongside Katrina Patchett, big winner of the first edition in 2011 with M. Pokora.
He surprised everyone by being very flexible, delicate and elegant in his dance, despite his very imposing physique. But that was not enough to convince Chris Marques, who decided to press the red buzzer, a new rule this season which allowed him to send a couple directly face-to-face. Unfortunately, the duo lost this duel against Anggun and Adrien Caby as well as Eva and Jordan Mouillerac and was therefore eliminated from the competition.
“You surprised me tonight”
“I’m just a beginner, I did what I could, I did it with my heart. In fact, I have already won my small victory. I impressed you and that alone is enough for me“, he reacted, addressing his wife vanessa. Because yes, a few minutes earlier, the latter surprised him by coming to congratulate him in full live just after his dance. He was obviously very moved and hastened to hug her with emotion, saying this: “It’s incredible, I really didn’t expect it, I heard something happening behind me (…) then I see the woman of my life…“. Which did not fail to move the jury as well as the spectators.
“I am moved because they are beautiful. Surprising you is even nicer (…) You surprised me tonight“, she replied on her side. As a reminder, they have been married since 2017 and spin the perfect love since, although they are not always in agreement on 100% of the subjects. Note that they are parents together ofa daughter named Blanche, born in September 2016. The former athlete is also the father of three children: Jérémie, Myriam and Matteo, born from a previous union.
