The 1 p.m. Discovery offers, Friday, May 26, the discovery of an exceptional paradise in Egypt, on the shores of the Red Sea, in the small city of Dahab. It is an old fishing village, nestled between desert, mountains, and magnificent turquoise waters like the seabed.

The Red Sea, azure blue. It takes its name from the ocher cliffs of Sinai. And on its banks, the village of Dahab (Egypt), where Karim Kemal lives. “I feel in paradise every day. I wake up facing the sea, with palm trees, blue skies and I feel really lucky”, says the employee of the Skydive diving club in Dahab. This Egyptian shares his passion. Because Dahab is a gem for divers, whom Karim guides to the edge of the lagoon. “Please don’t touch the coral. It’s the habitat of small fish”he warns.

Calm and peace on the sand

And you don’t have to dive very deep in these turquoise waters, to enjoy the spectacle of corals and fish. The Red Sea, swept by the hot desert wind. It is on its banks, nestled in the heart of a small cove in Dahab, that the hotelier Cherif El Jabraoui settled more than 35 years ago. “People travel from very far to see another culture and another nature. Here we use local materials, and above all there is no television, video or music”, said the hotelier. The calm, the peace, right on the sand. And few guests, in dwellings of earth and bamboo.
