In the age of countless remakes, reboots and other recyclings of the genre that invade our screens, we could be wary of the new TV adaptation of the novel One Day by David Nicholls. Remember: we were already treated to the same story in 2011, brought to the big screen by Lone Scherfig, with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the main roles of Emma and Dexter. This time, we meet Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall, both sublime. We would even dare to say that Ambika Mod’s Emma charmed us even more than Anne Hathaway’s. A sweet guilty pleasure. On Netflix.
