(Montreal) The CTV television network reports the death of one of its screen personalities for more than 30 years, Don McGowan, at the age of 85.
His son, Don McGowan Junior, said the death occurred late Monday night.
Don McGowan, who was a native of Montreal, was a central figure at the Montreal station of the CTV network where he worked from 1962 until his retirement in 1998. He hosted a few shows and anchored weather forecasts for newspapers late afternoon and late evening television shows.
For many years, he made a name for himself at the helm of Travel, Travel, one of CTV’s longest-running shows.
Twenty years ago, Don McGowan left Montreal to settle in Brockville, Ontario. He is survived by his wife and two children.
