In the Vaucluse, farmers are having their crops stolen more and more often. They therefore organize themselves to deal with the thugs.
Increasingly large thefts, farmers deplore this situation. In Caderousse (Vaucluse)a producer turned fact to steal 80 kilos of strawberries. “They pulled out plans (…) it’s wasted harvest“, testifies Julien Garcia. He adds “It happens that we are stolen melons, watermelons, asparagus, and even strawberries.” Roadside greenhouses are easily accessible. In the same village, a total of five farmers were robbed.
Faced with this intensification of thefts, an organization is being put in place to be able to prevent these thefts. Surveillance cameras will be installed. The mayor of the village also wants to see an increase in police rounds. What he fears most is an accident, a thief caught by a farmer trying to take justice into his own hands. Due to lack of time, some victims do not go to the police station to file a complaint.
