Criminal groups | Man shot and wounded in Quebec

(Quebec) A man in his forties was shot and wounded on rue du Petit Vallon in Quebec City on Saturday morning.


The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was called to intervene around 10:30 a.m. after gunshots rang out and a suspicious vehicle fled.

At the scene, authorities found the bullet-riddled car in which the man was found injured by the projectiles. He was quickly taken to hospital, as was a woman in her forties who was also in the vehicle and suffered nervous shock.

The SPVQ indicated in a press release that this event would be linked to armed violence between criminal groups.

The police took several steps to locate the vehicle and possible suspects. The dog handler also contributed to the operation. A security perimeter was set up in the area to facilitate the work of investigators and the forensic identification unit.
