(Beijing) Three members of the Canadian Olympic team are under COVID-19 protocol as of Tuesday, the Canadian Olympic Committee announced.

The 414-member delegation includes athletes, coaches and mission team members. These three cases “affect their ability to play their role at the Olympics,” the COC statement said.
“We are handling each case individually and in order to respect the confidentiality of those involved, we will not be sharing their names at this time,” it added.
“A part of our strategy was to arrive early to allow time for confirmatory testing and, if necessary, for the medical expert committee process to unfold,” the COC continued.
The COC announced last Friday that five members of the delegation were subject to the protocol.
The organization will not identify Canadians under protocol unless the athlete is unable to perform, since a positive case must be reported publicly.
Athletes who test positive in China must generate two negative tests within 24 hours in order to regain their freedom.
