The virus is circulating faster and faster. The French are suspended from the decisions of the Sanitary Defense Council which will take place on Monday, December 27. What measures could come into force?
At the heart of the Health Defense Council of Monday, December 27, the issue of isolation of contact cases will be on the agenda. To avoid paralysis of the economy, the executive wants to change the current rule. It is so far from seven days for a contact case, up to 17 for those living under the same roof as an infected person. A relaxation of the isolation is being considered while some projections put forward the figure of 200,000 contaminations per day in mid-January. A situation that could paralyze the economy a little more while sick leaves soared by 740% between November 1 and December 19. “The current deadlines for contact cases risk blocking company presence”, estimates Bernard Cohen-Hadad, of the Confederation of SMEs of Île-de-France.
Also on the table, the idea of a New Year’s Eve curfew and a postponement of the start of the school year. A good idea according to the Pr. Philippe Amouyel, epidemiologist at Lille University Hospital (North), which explains that “the variant will spread especially in children”. After the Health Defense Council, an extraordinary Council of Ministers will be held, during which the bill will be presented to transform the health pass into a vaccination pass, which could come into force on January 15, after the examinations of the two assemblies.
