COVID-19: Roche’s nasal self-test approved by Health Canada

Pharmaceuticals Roche announced Monday that the home test for COVID-19 has been approved by Canadian health authorities.

The SARS-CoV-2 Antigenic Nasal Self-Test allows you to test yourself using a nasal swab and obtain reliable results in 15 minutes for symptomatic or non-symptomatic patients.

The rapid test is an alternative for people at risk who can perform frequent tests without having to see a health professional, as health facilities are increasingly busy.

The test results were measured in three clinical studies and demonstrated a relative sensitivity of 94.9% to 100% in all three cases, the Laval-based company said.
