Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 and cases of infection are still on the rise in Quebec.
Health authorities on Wednesday reported an increase of 24 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, for a total of 2,085, including 651 who are being treated specifically for the disease.
In intensive care, 62 people are treated, including 26 who are due to COVID-19, which represents an increase of four.
The number of health professionals in isolation due to illness also rose from 3,865 on Tuesday to 3,906 on Wednesday.
The province also recorded ten new deaths related to COVID-19, four of which occurred in the past 24 hours. Five deaths occurred two to seven days ago and one more than seven days ago. There have been a total of 16,915 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Cases are also on the rise, with 1,104 infections reported on Wednesday. The number is actually higher, because access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.
Quebecers declared 230 rapid tests on Tuesday, including 195 positive. The total stands at 301,294 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 253,072 positives.
According to the ministry’s dashboard, the positivity rate is 9.4%.
Vaccination resumed a good pace on Tuesday, with a total of 24,545 people immunized. In all, 21,604,931 doses were administered in Quebec.
