COVID-19 in daycares: Montreal Public Health pauses Quebec directive

The Montreal regional public health directorate is putting on hold the new Quebec directive which no longer requires compulsory isolation for children or educators who have been in contact with a person positive for COVID-19 at the daycare.

“We are in discussion with Quebec,” was content to mention in Duty Jean-Nicolas Aubé, director of communications at the CIUSSS du Center-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.

In a letter dated December 30, the Quebec government wrote that “children or staff members who are asymptomatic contacts do not need a screening test and can attend the environment”. A new directive which made several people react negatively.
