Canadian Corey Conners made waves during the second round of the BMW Championship, the second stop of the FedEX Cup series, in the PGA, he who settled in the second echelon on Friday in Wilmington, Delaware.

The representative of the maple leaf delivered one of the best scores of the second day of activities, having hit the white object 67 (-4) times. His five birdies, against a single bogey, allowed him to make a leap of 11 positions.
“I feel like I played well the last two days,” Conners admitted in a press briefing after his round. I get the ball in good position on my tee shots, hit good iron shots, and just try to give myself as many opportunities as possible. I missed a few, but I feel good for the rounds this weekend.”
The Canadian also has no room for error, he who started the tournament just inside the top-30 of the FedEx Cup. Since only the top 30 in this standings at the end of the BMW Championship qualify for the final event of the season, Conners has no choice but to finish well or be relegated.
“It was definitely a goal at the start of the year, to play and win the PGA Championship,” added Conners. I definitely give myself that chance this week if I play well.”
By virtue of a cumulative of 135 (-7), he will start the third round on an equal footing with three other competitors, one shot behind the leader: the Australian Adam Scott.
The latter was on course to easily outrun his opponents, having birdied four of the first 16 pennants of his second round, but a double bogey in the 17th considerably reduced his lead.
Besides Conners, three other members of the maple leaf are in contention at this tournament. Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith are the best positioned, tied for 22nd, five shots behind the leader.
After a disastrous first round of 75 (+4), Mackenzie Hughes has recovered somewhat, with a 68 (-3), but he still shows a significant deficit of nine strokes on the leading position.
