Jano Vincent, who was found guilty of killing a motorist in a head-on collision on Highway 50, was found dead in his cell on Thursday, according to our information.

Jano Vincent, 38, was found guilty by a jury last July of the second-degree murder of Robert Campion. Vincent had attempted to take his own life by crashing head-on into the victim’s recreational vehicle on Highway 50 in 2019. His suicidal intentions were at the heart of the trial.
He was automatically sentenced to life in prison.
On Wednesday, at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse, the defence had requested the minimum period of ineligibility before parole, namely 10 years, while the Crown had argued to establish this period at 12 years due to numerous aggravating factors.
During this hearing, Jano Vincent did not speak. He died a few hours later. He is survived by his daughter and his parents.
