The ebb of the Covid-19 epidemic observed for a month in France continues on Tuesday May 3. Over the last seven days, the daily average of new contaminations stood at 48,907, down from the previous day (52,318) and down from seven days ago (85,588). This decline is part of a general downward trend since a peak reached in early April around 140,000.

The decline is also confirmed on the hospital side: 22,849 patients are hospitalized on Tuesday with Covid (compared to 23,211 the day before and 24,703 last Tuesday), including 1,498 in critical care (1,511 the day before, 1,667 last Tuesday ).

In the past 24 hours, 123 positive people have died. This brings the total number of deaths in France to 146,262 since the start of the pandemic.
