It’s finally the start of the real season in Quebec university football. The counters have been reset and regular season standings mean nothing except home-field advantage. If we take into account the statistics of the last campaign, Saturday’s duel between the Concordia Stingers and the Rouge et Or of Laval University seems very unequal.

The last game of the regular schedule, however, rekindled the hopes of the Montreal team, which believes it can create a surprise after proving that it can compete for four quarters with its opponent. For its part, the Laval formation rather sees in the last meeting a slowdown related to a lack of intensity which will be quickly forgotten in the comfort of the Telus Stadium.
