With The House of the Dragon on HBO and Rings of Power on Amazon Prime, probably Netflix saw fit to jump into the fray with one of its most popular franchises. In short, the court will be full this fall on the small screen!

Expectations are high, to say the least, for season 5 of Cobra-Kaithe latest cuvée, launched just nine months ago, achieved a score of 95% on Rotten Tomatoes in addition to registering 120 million hours of listening in the first three days following its launch, on December 31, 2021.

All the main characters are back in season 5 of Cobra-Kaiwhich picks up where season 4 ended. Karate Kid III performed by Sean Kanan. Alicia Hannah-Kim will join the cast as Kim Da-Eun, a South Korean-born sensei hired by Terry Silver, part of Cobra Kai who plans to expand his Cobra Kai dojos to the entire San Fernando Valley. Silver, played by Thomas Ian Griffith, is now alone at the head of Cobra Kai, after cheating on his associate John Kreese (Martin Kove).

Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who will therefore have a lot to do to thwart Silver’s plans, will have the help of Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), seen at the end of the last episode of season 4.

Filming for season 5 began in September 2021 in Atlanta and will end in December. It’s currently unknown if there will be a sixth season, but producer Jon Hurwitz hinted to Hollywood Life that “expect more Cobra-Kai and that “the Miyagivers was far from complete.” »
