Bernard Shaw, a news anchor for two decades at CNN, died yesterday at the age of 82.

Several viewers remember his Olympian calm when he covered the Gulf War in 1991, while missiles flew around him in Baghdad.
Shaw, a former U.S. Navy serviceman, had worked at CBS and ABC before becoming a CNN news anchor in 1980.
He had been moderator at the presidential debate between George HW Bush and Michael Dukakis in 1988.
