Claire Chazal facing Julien Clerc and Lambert Wilson for a beautiful tribute in Le Grand Echiquier

The Grand Chessboard hits hard for its first issue of the year. This Friday, January 21, 2022, France 3 will broadcast the cultural program presented by Claire Chazal. For this new major event, it is Molière who will be honored on the occasion of his 400th birthday.

It is an exceptional program that Claire Chazal concocted with the teams of Great Chessboard. It pays homage to the rich, joyful, relevant and instructive universe of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (his real name). For the occasion, the 65-year-old presenter received artists from different backgrounds to discuss the administrator and member of the Comédie Française through all its themes. Namely the comic force of his work, the importance of female roles, the modernity and resonance of his texts, the great actors who have played his plays, baroque music or his heritage through French comedy.

In order to hit hard, the evening will begin with the March of the Turks by JB Lully performed by the Orchester du Grand Echiquier conducted by conductor Guiraud, and accompanied especially for the occasion by the hip hop company Fly or Die. Then, personalities will follow one another to bring their expertise or transmit their passion. Thus, viewers will have the pleasure of finding the actors Lambert Wilson and Jacques Weber give a cue among others. Eric Ruf (administrator of the French) as well as Benjamin Lavernhe, Christian Hecq or Suliane Brahim (members of the French) also responded present.

There will also be music with Julien Clerc and Juliet Armanet who will offer a beautiful duo or with Kerry James or lyrical artists Lea Desandre (accompanied by the lutenist Thomas Dunford) and Adele Charvet. The pianist Alexandre Tharaud, comedian Alex Vizorek and the Malandain Ballet Biarittz were also part of the party for this beautiful and great show.

Questioned by our colleagues from TV Magazine, Claire Chazal confided that she was very keen that The Grand Chessboardbe carried by a theme, in order to create a link between all artists and the arts and between all generations on France 3“.”Thanks to Molière, all the guests can exchange around the language, the love of words, this common base of information, culture and education.“, she specified. She is pleased that the program can offer “live shows“. A moment out of time that the presenter and the guests live “now in live conditions“.”It’s an economic choice that we have to accept even if everyone prefers live. I am not looking for a challenge, I who have had the chance to present newspapers in a very powerful media”, concluded the former presenter of the JT of TF1.
