Mme Labrie made the announcement Monday morning, in his riding, along with the deputy for Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne, Guillaume Cliche-Rivard, and the deputy for Taschereau, Etienne Grandmont. She had indicated last May that she was going to declare her intentions before the summer.
The member for Sherbrooke explained that she wanted to campaign on the issue of equal opportunity, particularly in education, as well as on that of inclusion.
“What I would like is for each person on the territory of Quebec to feel that their voice counts as much as the others. That no matter in which neighborhood or in which region they grew up, regardless of their income, their skin color, their diplomas or their age, each person feels that they are part of a community that takes care of each other. , she said.
In addition to Christine Labrie, the MNA for Mercier, Ruba Ghazal, and the former MNA for Rouyn-Noranda–Témiscamingue Émilise Lessard-Therrien will also try to become the female co-spokesperson for Québec solidaire.
Last May, Manon Massé announced that she will pass the torch as spokesperson for QS, but that she will remain in office as an MP until the end of her term in 2026.
