Cher: The Memoir | Cher to release autobiography in two volumes

(New York) Cher has long known that only one person can tell her story. And she does it in two volumes.

Dey Street Books announced on Wednesday that Cher: The Memoir, Part One will be released on November 19, with the second volume following in 2025.

Dey Street, a division of publishing giant HarperCollins, promises a “true story, in intimate detail,” starting with her “often chaotic” childhood and her famously turbulent relationship with Sonny Bono.

“With his characteristic honesty and humor, Dear: The Memoir tells how this rough diamond managed, without any plan and with little confidence, to become the great star and pioneer that the world could not ignore for more than half a century,” writes the publisher.

Cher: The Memoir, Part One follows her extraordinary beginnings through her childhood to her meeting and marriage to Sonny Bono – and reveals the very complicated relationship that made them world famous, but ultimately tore them apart.

Cher, 78, is the only woman to have topped the Billboard charts for seven consecutive decades, with hits including Dark Lady, Believe And DJ Play a Christmas Song.

She won an Oscar for her leading role in Moonlight and has received numerous other honors, including induction into the Rock Hall of Fame.
