Chateauguay | High school closed due to threats

A secondary school in Châteauguay is closed for the day, Monday, due to a threat on social networks targeting staff members.

The principal of the Louis-Philippe-Paré school, Stéphane Brault, sent an email to the parents of the students at the end of the evening on Sunday to inform them of the situation.

The email states that the Chateauguay Police Department has been informed of the situation, is taking it seriously and is investigating it.

The school is closed for the day “as a preventive measure and to allow the police to carry out their work in the best conditions”, we can read.

“We know that this will require a reorganization of your family planning on Monday, but in this context we prefer to ensure the safety of students and members of our staff,” concludes Mr. Brault.
