The club condemned some of the actions of their supporters in a press release. Without naming them explicitly, the CFMTL asked the Ultras, a partisan group in conflict with the team since the change of identity, to respect the rules put in place for the well-being of all.

During the game against Charlotte, the Ultras moved to their old section, 132, despite the fans who had already purchased their tickets and reserved their place.

However, where the shoe pinches is that some members of the group used pyrotechnic products to encourage and demonstrate, which is strictly prohibited and obviously against safety standards.

” […] As always, this is prohibited by the Club, according to stadium regulations and the MLS code of conduct.

If the situation were to escalate, MLS may have to penalize CF Montreal or the individuals involved.

“As a responsible organization, we are analyzing the situation to fully understand these incidents and continue to work with all supporter groups to support and optimize the atmosphere at the stadium in a safe environment. Our property remains the health and safety of all, ”concludes the club.

The club nevertheless said it was “happy with the victory and the atmosphere that reigned at the stadium”.
