César 2022: Antoine de Caunes balances on a film which was successful and which was not named at all

This is the big day ! This Friday, February 25, 2022, the 47th edition of the Césars is being held, under the presidency of Danièle Thompson. While waiting for the launch of the evening at the Olympia, master of ceremonies Antoine de Caunes gave an interview to nice morning. The opportunity for the comedian, who is taking on this role for the tenth time (a record!), to confide in his regret about the absence of certain films among this year’s nominees…

The absence of Kaamelott by Alexandre Astier is a personal regret, especially since the film has found its audienceexplains the 68-year-old host. I also have a regret aroundblood orangesa radical film, but also on the films of Laurent Lafitte, The origin of the world, and that of Anne Fontaine, Presidentswith Jean Dujardin and Grégory Gadebois.“If some of his favorites in recent months have been shunned by the Caesars, Antoine de Caunes intends to stay on a happy note on Friday evening.

After a 2020 edition marked by the controversy surrounding the coronation of Roman Polanski, then a half-confined 2021 edition, moderated somehow by Marina Foïs, this year’s master of ceremonies announces that he has “want to put the cinema back at the heart of the evening, with emotion, laughter“. José Garcia’s sidekick intends to bet on nuance and launches written with finesse: “We can laugh at everything but everything depends on the form and the manner. It is necessary to avoid the gratuitous provocation and I do not come to make only one in scene.” In addition to laughter, this 47th edition promises to be rich in emotion, with two highly anticipated tributes to Gaspard Ulliel and Jean-Paul Belmondo, both of whom have passed away in recent months.

Unlike last year’s ceremony, which was held in a select committee, the César 2022 promise a real parade of stars, starting with American actress Cate Blanchett, who will come to receive her honorary César. In terms of nominations, the films Annette, Aline and lost illusions are the big favourites. BAC North and The divide could also walk away with prizes. To follow the ceremony, go to Canal+ from 8:55 p.m.
