Center of Quebec | Pilot dies in helicopter crash

(Lefebvre) A helicopter pilot crashed while alone in his private aircraft on Tuesday afternoon in Lefebvre, a small town in Centre-du-Québec near Drummondville.


The accident occurred around 12:40 p.m. on the 10e rank.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the aircraft had been in flight for a short time when it began to rapidly lose altitude for a still unknown reason. He finally crashed to the ground.

The pilot, a 64-year-old man, who was alone on board, had to be rushed to a hospital center and he was unconscious on board the ambulance. The SQ confirmed the death of the man in the early evening.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will investigate the causes and circumstances surrounding the crash. Two investigators were deployed to collect data, take witness statements and examine the crashed helicopter.
