A little before midnight on Saturday evening, a 36-year-old man who was driving on boulevard des Chutes in Drummondville went off the road in a curve. The accident took place in a residential area of the city of Centre-du-Québec.
The man was ejected from his vehicle on impact, raising questions about whether or not he was wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol and speed could also have contributed to the skid, says Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
A police officer specializing in investigation and collision came to the scene to understand the circumstances of the tragedy. When The Press published these lines, the coroner had not authorized the disclosure of more information on the identity of the victim.
