Celebrities pay tribute to Shannen Doherty, who died Saturday after a long battle with cancer

Several stars paid tribute to Shannen Doherty, the actress from the series Beverly Hills 90210 And Charmed died after a long battle with cancer last Saturday, at the age of 53.

“Shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my friend Shannen,” wrote Jason Priestley on Instagram, under a photo of him and the actress who played his twin sister in the series Beverly Hills 90210. “She was a force of nature and I will miss her. Sending love and light to her family during this dark time.”

“Shan. My sister… You loved me through everything,” wrote Brian Austin Green, who played David Silver, on Instagram. “You were a huge part of my understanding of love. I’m going to miss you more than I know how to process right now. Thank you for the gift you gave me.”

Gabrielle Carteriswho played Andrea Zuckerman, posted a photo of the sky to commemorate her actress friend.

“So young – so sad. May you rest in peace Shannen,” she wrote. “I know Luke is there with open arms loving you,” she added, referring to their friend Luke Perry, who died of a stroke in 2019 at the age of 52.

“I am still processing my immense grief over the loss of my longtime friend Shannen, the woman I have often described as one of the strongest people I have ever known,” wrote Kelly’s actress, Jennie Garth.

“Our relationship was real and honest. We were pitted against each other so often, but none of that reflected the true nature of our relationship, which was built on mutual respect and admiration. She was courageous, passionate, determined, very loving and generous. I will always miss her and honor her deeply in my heart and in my memories. My heart goes out to her family, her dog Bowie and all the people who loved her.”

The actress died of breast cancer, which was discovered in 2015 and had recently spread to her bones and brain.

Tori Spellingwho played Donna, also posted a photo of herself and Shannen Doherty, while admitting that she can’t process the news. “I don’t have the words to say it yet, but we knew and that’s what matters,” the actress commented.

Several stars of the series Charmed also paid tribute to Shannen Doherty. Rose McGowan, who played Paige Matthews on the San Francisco series Witches, said her former colleague had the “heart of a lion.”

“This woman fought for her life. Shannen knew how to be a star because she was one since she was a child. Her work ethic inspired me until the end.”

“It’s no secret that Shannen and I have a complicated relationship, but deep down, she was someone I deeply respected and admired,” actress Alyssa Milano said. “She was a talented actress, loved by many and the world is a worse place without her. My condolences to all who loved her.”

Brian Krauseknown for his role as Leo Wyatt in Charmedshared a photo of the actress and him and another on the set of the show.

“You showed me what strength is. You taught me to be fearless and to live with purpose. To know your worth and stick to your determinations. I will always love you,” he said, “with a truly broken heart.”

Ted Kingwho played Andy Trudeau in the first season of Charmed, recalled how thrilled he was to play the love interest of Shannen Doherty’s character. “We created a special television couple for eternity. My heart goes out to your family. Rest in peace Shannen, rest in peace,” he said.

In the comments section of Shannen Doherty’s latest Instagram post, shared on June 25, several stars commented on her loss, including Kate Beckinsale And Selma Blair.

“I love you. Fly high, lovely and sweet darling woman. This hits hard. We will miss your heart, courage and kindness so much»wrote Kate Beckinsale, while Selma Blair commented: “Thank you for being here. Thank you for showing us how to keep going.”
