“For this 6th year of the Heritage Loto, these 18 new emblematic sites once again reflect the diversity of our precious heritage”, explained Stéphane Bern, initiator of the Heritage Loto. Among them, we find in particular the abbey of Saint-Antoine in Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye (Isère), the house of Colomba in Fozzano (Corse-du-Sud), the institute of marine biology Michel Pacha in La Seyne -sur-Mer (Var) and the former prefecture Maison des Gouverneurs in Dzaoudzi in Mayotte.

Each year, 18 projects are selected according to four main criteria: heritage and cultural interest, the state of danger, the maturity of the project, its impact on the territory and the development project. Since the first edition in 2018, 5,500 endangered sites have been reported, including 700 new sites for the 2023 edition. “Heritage Mission” draw.
762 restoration projects supported
According to the Ministry of Culture, this exceptional lotto has already helped “762 sites for their restoration work, including 108 emblematic regional heritage projects and 654 departmental sites. Today, more than 60% have already been saved or are about to be. 230 have been completed and 240 works are in progress”. The Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak hailed the scope of the Heritage Loto, “a tremendous catalyst for citizen mobilization”. “Behind each site saved, there are committed inhabitants who fight to revive their heritage”she explained.
