CAQ candidate Claude Thibault withdraws

The candidate for the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) in the riding of Rouyn-Noranda — Témiscamingue is withdrawing.

Claude Thibault will not participate in the next election campaign, citing “personal” reasons.

In a very brief press release published on Friday, the CAQ declared “to take note” of the decision of Mme Thibault.

The party adds that “no interview will be granted on this subject”.

The candidacy of M.me Thibault was officially announced by the CAQ last Wednesday.

Mme Thibault had been presented as a mother of two children, holder of a bachelor’s degree in communications who “radiated [s]a region”.

She worked at the Center local de développement de Rouyn-Noranda as director of labor and immigration.

In the past, Claude Thibault had already presented himself as a candidate in the federal elections for the Liberal Party of Justin Trudeau.
