In Canteleu (Seine-Maritime), did the mayor and her deputy facilitate drug trafficking? The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office requested that the mayor be referred to court.

Mélanie Boulanger will finally appear in court. Justice suspects the socialist mayor of Canteleu (Seine-Maritime) of having helped the development of drug trafficking in her town, in particular by voluntarily delaying the installation of video surveillance cameras. The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office (Seine-Saint-Denis) indicates: “If her statements and the documents she provides show that, publicly, she was trying to fight against drug trafficking in her commune, the investigations demonstrated that, at the same time, she ‘worked’ with the Mezianis by providing them with information essential to the sustainability and development of their traffic.”

Several searches in 2021

The councilor is sent back to court with his deputy and 17 other people. The elected socialist was placed in police custody in October 2021, as part of an anti-narcotics raid. During several searches, 15 kilos of heroin, 25 kilos of cutting products, firearms and 375,000 euros were seized.
