Cancel Fruits becomes Vergers Cancel to assert its identity and continue to grow

Cancel Fruits is a company based in Castelsarrasin in Tarn-et-Garonne. Today it brings together nearly 400 producers of fruits. The company has decided to change its name to Cancel Orchards to assert its identity and continue to grow. as Maxime Gil, the general manager of the brand, explains. “We wanted to affirm the identity of the brand, recall our values and the history of the company while remaining ambitious. This is why we focused on the orchards, including the orchards of our producers, without forgetting the family aspect with the surname of the founders, the Cancel family.”

A Southwest success story since 1900

The story of these fruit producers began in 1900 with the Cancel family from Tarn-et-Garonne. Today, four generations later, Vergers Cancels still sells fruit and also brings together 400 producers from the south-west, or 28,000 tonnes of fruit sold each year, the majority of which are kiwis, specifies Maxime Gil. “We supply mass distribution, wholesalers on the markets and in particular the big markets in France such as Rungis. We also export these products from our orchards in the south-west. The kiwi is the fruit that is on the rise for its qualities. This represents 16,000 tons out of 28,000 a year with varieties of yellow and red kiwis that are developing.” Vergers Cancel currently employs 80 people.
