Both men have helped the Montreal Canadiens win six of their nine games in the past month, all following a break of about a dozen days.

Also a winner of the December bracket, Allen was named first star once, Tuesday in a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks. He received second and third once each, going 4-1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against-average and .937 save percentage. The veteran notably signed his first shutout of the season on February 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

For his part, Matheson obtained the first star once, on February 11 against the New York Islanders, during which he scored the decisive goal in overtime. He also received the second and third once each. The guard led the team with eight points (three goals, five assists) in nine games.

Both players will be featured briefly before Tuesday’s game at the Bell Center against the Carolina Hurricanes.

In January, Samuel Montembeault won the prize. Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield also won a segment each this season.
