(Montreal) Forward Jake Evans will miss his second straight game tonight against the Sharks in San Jose.
The Canadian (1-6-0) indicated on his official Twitter account that Evans was absent from the morning warm-up in order to undergo treatment. The center also missed Tuesday night’s game against the Kraken in Seattle, which ended 5-1 in favor of the expanding NHL club.
Evans then gave way to Cédric Paquette, who pivoted a trio completed by Artturi Lehkonen and Joel Armia. This was again the case during the warm-up in the morning on Thursday.
No other changes were observed in the training of head coach Dominique Ducharme.
” There has been no change. I could make a million changes, if it doesn’t play out, well that won’t change a thing. […] We cannot put a puzzle together if we do not follow the plan, ”summarized Ducharme.
Jake Allen should therefore once again be the starting goalie for the Canadiens.
The Habs will try tonight to avenge their stinging 5-0 loss against the Sharks (4-2-0) earlier this month at the Bell Center. He will also try to end a 10-game losing streak against the Northern California club.
“We have to all be on the same page, apply the game plan, work hard and win our battles. We couldn’t be worse than against them the last time, and we want to avenge our defeat, that’s for sure, ”Paquette said.
The last time the Canadiens defeated the Sharks was on March 22, 2015 – a 2-0 win at the Bell Center. Moreover, the Montrealers have not triumphed in San Jose since 1999, losing in their last 12 visits.
“There is obviously a sense of urgency. We absolutely have to start stringing together victories, ”said forward Brendan Gallagher of the Canadiens’ current scarcity.
After the game in San Jose, the Bleu-blanc-rouge will head to southern California for their Saturday afternoon duel against Phillip Danault and the Los Angeles Kings.
