Canadian men’s fashion giant Harry Rosen has died at the age of 92, his family announced Monday.
Harry Rosen founded the company of the same name in Toronto in 1954. Described as a “visionary” on the company’s Facebook page, he opened the first men’s custom clothing store with his brother Lou with just $500 in the pocket.
“Harry has [mis au monde] our company with determination, one customer at a time,” we emphasize.
As a teenager, Harry Rosen worked in a haberdashery and clothing factory. He then ran his business for 51 years, before passing it on to his eldest son Larry Rosen.
“His passion for men’s clothing and fashion was contagious,” his family wrote in a press release. “His ability to teach and inspire was second to none. The team he built and the values he instilled in the company helped it grow across the country, for three generations, and nearly 70 years later,” adds -She.
In Quebec, two Harry Losen stores are located in Montreal and Laval. They offer clothing from brands such as Prada, Armani and BOSS.
