(OTTAWA) Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced on Wednesday the launch of a fund to finance Ukrainian air travel to Canada.

The Ukraine-Canada Fund is the result of a partnership with Air Canada and the Miles4Migrants organizations and the Shapiro Foundation, he said at a press briefing in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The objective is to enable at least 10,000 Ukrainians and their families to reach the country.
Canadians and businesses wishing to contribute to the initiative are invited to do so through their Aeroplan points. Those wishing to donate money can do so through the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto.
