Justin Trudeau announces sanctions against Vladimir Putin and his Minister of Foreign Affairs. Canada supports Russia’s withdrawal from the SWIFT banking network. Sanctions will also be applied to Belarus.
The Prime Minister assures us that Canada has “excellent” cybersecurity centers that monitor computer attacks that the country could receive from Russia.
About 2,000 immigration applications from Ukrainian citizens have already been approved by the Government of Canada, we learned.
“Putin made a very bad decision to invade another country, because the response from the world was tough, critical and directed at him,” the prime minister said.
