Two motions of censure were tabled Friday, March 17 against the government, one by the National Rally and the other, transpartisan, initiated by a group of independent deputies rallied to La France insoumise. Astrid Mezmorian takes stock of the situation for the 20 Hours, live in front of the Élysée Palace.

While the government was pinned down by two motions of censure on Friday March 17, these have little chance of succeeding, as Astrid Mezmorian points out. “It would take 30 LR deputies to vote for them, which seems unlikely”, justifies the journalist. These two motions of censure should be examined at the beginning of next week. “Emmanuel Macron faces a double political and social crisis which undoubtedly comes to hit head on, amputate, his reform inclinations for the continuation of the quinquennium”adds Astrid Mezmorian.

Emmanuel Macron assumes his choice of 49.3

According to the journalist, the President of the Republic says “to regret” the irresponsibility of some but “assumes” the choice of this 49.3. “Emmanuel Macron, who until recently used the expression ‘taking his risk’, decided not to take the risk of a vote”, explains the journalist. A choice and a bet which for the moment is paying a very high price.
