Cameron Smith wins the British Open

Although Rory McIlroy was identified as the heavy favorite at the start of the final round, it was ultimately Cameron Smith who took the top honors by winning the 150e British Open on Sunday at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland.

After a tough day on Saturday, he had a dream final round. He finished the tournament with a score of 64 (-8), for a total of -20. One stroke ahead of American Cameron Young and two strokes behind McIlroy.

Cameron Smith finished the tournament with a score of 64 (-8), for a total of -20.

He started the day four strokes behind leaders McIlroy and Viktor Hovland.

With this gain, he gets his hands on his first major title. He also becomes the first Australian since Greg Norman in 1993 to win the Omnium.
