Businesses: faced with inflation, companies rely on social benefits for their employees

In France, inflation is putting companies under pressure. The unions and the Ministry of the Economy are pushing employers to increase wages. Some companies give a little air to their employees by providing benefits, rather than raising wages.

To help its employees cope with inflation, Work lifea human resources company, focuses on employee benefits. Since January, Clément falchier even gets an extra boost: 50 euros more per month for her daughter’s crèche. In total, with mobility aids, teleworking and restaurant tickets, it is 3,000 euros more purchasing power over the year.

Benjamin sucharthe boss of Worklife, has also increased wages but, for him, it is much more interesting financially to play on social benefits. There are actually a lot less charges. Company benefits are varied: restaurant coupon, good for fuelmutual health aid and gift certificates. The range is wide to attract employees, while only one in three small businesses has chosen, for the moment, to increase wages in the face of inflation.
