Health authorities confirm that Buitoni brand Fraîch’Up pizzas should not be eaten. They have established a link between the consumption of these products and cases of contamination with E. Coli bacteria. 41 serious cases have already been identified.

The Buitoni pizza from the Fraîch’Up range is a potentially dangerous pizza. It may contain a dreadful bacterium: Escherichia coli more commonly known as E. Parcel. The bacterium is responsible for at least 41 serious poisonings. In a hospital, three-year-old Noa saw his life-threatening condition. “He must have eaten three pieces, we (…) we ate some too, we had nothing and there it will cost him after-effects, a week of hospitalization and trauma that he will keep”testifies a member of his family.

The bacterium E. Parcel can cause serious damage to vital organs including the kidneys. Children are particularly affected. Two of them would have already died following contamination. At the factory, no one understands how this infection could have occurred. “At this stage, we are in the investigation, we are trying to understand what is going on”says Jerome Jatonthe industrial general manager of Buitoni. However, certain symptoms should alert such as bloody diarrhea, excessive fatigue, or fever. The Ministry of Health recommends throwing away this type of pizza.
