Bruno Podalydès in the throes of the real estate market

The cinema outings of the week with Thierry Fiorile and Matteu Maestracci: “Wow!” by Bruno Podalydès and the films of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes in Cannes, to be seen in a selection of cinemas.

Wow! by actor-director Bruno Podalydès features a duo of real estate agents, played by Bruno Podalydès himself and Karin Viard, both disillusioned and even depressed, who show properties to their clients, in Bougival’s golden triangle in the Yvelines, and in particular a house belonging to a grumpy couple, played by Sabine Azéma and Eddy Mitchell. The opportunity to meet many potential buyers, of different styles and personalities.

Functioning somewhat on the principle of a sketch filmWow! is inevitably a bit uneven. There are very funny sequences, in particular one, short and silent, involving Denis Podalydès, the illustrious brother of the director. But there emerges from this old-fashioned comedy, offbeat as often with Bruno Podalydès, an old-fashioned charm, something melancholy, and in this, the agent, recently widowed, played by Karin Viard is a pretty character, and we had not seen the actress so well for a while.

Run to see if your favorite room is on the list for this welcome operation: The Goldman Trial by Cedric Kahn. It is the young Georges Kiejman who defends this complex man, as militant as he is a thug, and the duo Arthur Harari, Arieh Worthalter is remarkable, the film will be released in all theaters, this time on September 27th.

See also the hilarious new film by Michel Gondry, solution book, with an excellent Pierre Niney, even if the tone of the film is more autobiographical, and awkward than burlesque in the first degree, the occasions for laughing are rare in the cinema these days. We also remember that it is the film A prince, by Frenchman Pierre Creton, who was awarded this year.
