This is testimony that should not help Amber Heard in the trial against Johnny Depp: this Thursday, the actor’s bodyguard was called to the stand to testify to the violence of which the two ex-spouses have been accusing for several years. And he recounted several difficult scenes, especially those days when he found his boss with marks on his face.
“What I noticed right away was that most of these marks were happening on the left side of his face (…). There could be scratches on his neck. Maybe a swollen corner of the lip, a bruise in the eye socket. It was becoming more regular. Not every week, but it happened for sure“, he told the judges, while the actress refutes any form of violence on her side.
A testimony, however, which corresponds to that of the best friend of Johnny Depp, who had come to the trial a few days earlier. Like him, British bodyguard Malcolm Connolly initially had a good relationship with his boss’ ex-wife. “Amber was adorable, charming – as she always is – and kind“, he says, adding that the ex of Vanessa Paradis was very happy.
“At first it was cooing. Everything was great. It was the honeymoon period and yes it was going well. It was great to see Johnny happy again“, he underlines. But quickly, things deteriorate between them, and violence settles in the one who could become “icy in the blink of an eye”.
“Amber started to change“, says the man during his video testimony. “She started to get a little more fiery, demanding. I could see Amber wanted to wear the panties in this relationship. It was pretty obvious“. He also recounts the arguments, which he hears from afar. “I heard Amber scream. I could hear screaming and bawling“, he recalls.
A frightening testimony which is added to the photos of the actor with the swollen face which had already been shown to the court and which discredit the testimony of his ex-wife.
